Abuja Hotel Owners Forum set to package tour of the city

Hotel Owners Forum Abuja [HOFA] has come up with a package which it called “HOFA Guides Tour of Abuja”, this according to the body is to fill a vacuum that nobody is yet to take advantage of in recent time.
The newly elected President of the forum, Eng. Onofiok Ekong, said the package includes; a daily sightseeing tour of Abuja City and its immediate environs. T
“This is a package where reputable hotels will avail their guests the opportunity to tour attractions in Abuja free of charge” the president noted.
Meanwhile, HOFA members are expected to have build in little amount as part of room tariff to be paid to HOFA to cover the cost of guided tour.
If the aforementioned goes according to plan, HOFA members will offer to their guests; drive through tour [see_the_city] tour. Here, guests will drive through the five major districts of the federal capital _Garki, Asokoro, Wuse, Maitama and Central Business Districts; Architectural and man_made attractions, through which visitors can see places like the NPA Ship House and the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, after it successfully Annual General Meeting (AGM), the forum elected a new set of executives to pilot the affairs of the association.
The election which took place penultimate week produced Eng. Onofiok Ekong as its new president and Mrs. Bola Onigbogi as Vice President respectively.
Also elected were, Arc. DAvid Alozie, General Secretary, Mr. Denis Ibe, Asst. Secretary General, Princess. Nnenna Nwachukwu, Financial Secretary, Chief Frank Enekebe, Treasurer and Mrs. Lizzy Akpabio, Public Relations Officer.
Other elected officers are; Mrs. Alu Dim, Social Welfare Officer, Dr. Ezeudeh C.C as Provost, Sir Chika Chiejine and Mr. Tomi Akingbogun both ex_offico completing the list of the new exco.
The association which was founded in November 2002 is aimed at protecting hotel owners’ investments and promoting tourism in the Federal Capital and Nigeria in general.
Eng. Ekong explained further that HOFA is the umbrella body for all hotel owners in the Federal Capital Territory adding that the term ‘owner’ is extended to include all investors and operators of hospitality establishments in the Federal Capital Territory whose interest is among others; to promote Hotel owner’s investments with the view to promoting tourism, to promote peace, unity and understanding among member investors and present a collective voice matters affecting the hospitality industry.
Other aspects are; to promote and ensure standards of professional practice and ensure security of guests as well as investments; hence the motto of the association, ‘Hospitality and Security’, to create interactive forum for members to share experience, train members and staff, and finally provide platform for foreign partnership in tourism development in the federal capital territory and Nigeria as a whole.
